GLIP:
New strategies to improve grain legumes for food and feed
What's happening about FP7?
The first calls for proposals rom the seventh
framework proposal are likely to be made towards the end of 2006
The details of the priorities and activities in FP7 can be found in the
Cordis website at http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/home.html
An important feature in FP7 is the development of 'Technology Platforms'
of which the Plant Genomics
and Biotechnology Platform is especially relevant,
as is the position document 'Plants
for the future'. As is the 'Food
tor life' platform.
EPSO organised the preparation of
'expressions of interest' in relation to possible FP7 projects. Three
linked documents relevant to Grain Legumes as well as other legume crops
and models have been submitted. The text of these can be found below.
Note that the EPSO survey was web based, so these documents are the text
from which the submissions were prepared.
EoIs:
1:
Support and development of legume genetic
and genomic platforms for sustainable production of food, feed, bioproducts
and bioenergy. [PDF]
2:
Novel roles of legumes in European for bioenergy, feed, food, biodiversity
and the environment. [PDF]
3: Exploiting
genomics resources to optimize seed protein composition and yield. [PDF]
Forward plans for FP7 proposals will likely
be developed over the summer, and information will be posted here.
